Introduction

All Terminal commands in this document have been validated by copy/paste from this document into a Terminal window and executed. Consider arranging your browser window and your Terminal window side by side in order to copy/paste the Terminal commands.

Start here: Add repository and install Wine

Begin by opening a Terminal window. With the following commands, you add the openSUSE Tumbleweed Wine repository and install Wine.

When zypper refresh asks you to trust it, choose "a" for "trust always".

The first of these commands is a single line with no line breaks.


> sudo zypper addrepo https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Emulators:Wine/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/Emulators:Wine.repo

> sudo zypper refresh
> sudo zypper install wine
 

Verify the installation.

> wine --version
